How to prevent whiplash
There are no set guidelines in preventing whiplash as it occurs due to an expected jerk to your neck, however there are some very good precautions you can take in order to minimise the risk of a whiplash injury. First and foremost always make sure you wear your seat belt, although wearing a seat belt does not stop whiplash it prevents your body from being thrusted completely forward during a car crash and the simple act of wearing your seat belt protects your life and can minimise the severity of a whiplash injury.
Having a correctly adjusted head rest in the car whilst you are travelling can prevent whiplash by stopping your head from moving backwards. It is very difficult preventing you head moving forwards and sidewards. Putting these precautions in place can not only prevent whiplash from happening but can also minimise the severity should whiplash occur.
