What is whiplash

Whiplash is caused due to the neck sustaining a forceful jolt either forwards (hyperflextion) or backwards (hyperextension). This causes the ligaments and tendons in the neck to sprain and although they are not broken it is a very painful injury and can take a very long time to heal.

Each whiplash injury is very different, depending on the cause of the accident, results can be very different in each person and whiplash injuries can vary in severity and can result in very mild or very severe whiplash sometimes causing a disability.
