Whiplash symptoms
The symptoms of whiplash often take a while to develop after an accident has taken place. Any swelling and bruising in the neck muscles won’t usually be visible at the time of the accident.
It can take up to 24 hours after the accident for the whiplash symptoms to become evident. The pain is usually more severe the day following your accident and can often continue to worsen with the days following.
The most common symptoms of a whiplash injury are:
- Neck pain and stiffness
- Inflammation of the neck
- Tenderness along the back of the neck
- Loss of movement in the neck and shoulder
- Headaches/Migraines
In severe cases of whiplash symptoms may include:
- Pins and needles in the arms and hands
- Muscles spasms
- Drowsiness
- Difficulty in swallowing
- Light-headed
- Blurred vision
It is always advisable to visit your GP if you do feel that you have suffered a whiplash injury so that they get recommend and treat any injuries you may have. These GP reports will also be used in your compensation claim to get the compensation you deserve.
